"Call on your curiosity and charisma and expressiveness and lust for life as you tinker with and rebuild everything you see so that it's in greater harmony with the laws of love and more hospitable to your soul's code." ~Rob Brezsny
We so often hear the quote: “Live every day as if it was your last.”
This may result in us to admitting sweet words to our loved ones, conquering our fears by jumping out of a plane, taking risks by asking for that raise, and while these are all great, I would argue to: “Live every day as if it was your first.”
If it were the first day of your life, chances are you will live the day full of wonderment and awe. How does the ocean come all the way to the shoreline and then begin to recede just a few hours later? How is that I can turn a silver knob attached to the wall in my bathroom and warm soothing water will pour out of the wall and at which point I can stand under it to warm and cleanse my body? How does that beautiful leaf know that it is time to go from a fresh shade of green to a brilliant shade of orange? The sun has risen again to provide light and warmth to the earth- what is a sun?!
Looking at the world through these eyes can create a curiosity of the complexities and miracles of life- which in turn create a sense of gratitude.
When you sit down to your meals this weekend I challenge you to really look at the food on your plate and be curious about where it came from. When you tap into this curiosity you open up the channels to feeling grateful- in turn your food- and your life- will taste SO much better!
